Long ago and not so far away, the fuels, solvents and fluids used in aviation maintenance simply dripped and splashed onto bare concrete. What a slippery mess!
Toward the middle of the last century, scientists started using polymers to make paint. And the air hangar floor coating was born!
Of course, one of the biggest purchasers of this product was the U.S. Military and they wanted some standards. So, they invited manufacturers to submit their concrete sealers, then tested them up-down-and-sideways. Whoever passed would be listed as approved sources in all Military hangar floor coating specifications. Florock (better known as “Crawford Labs” back then) was one of the chosen elite.
It’s many years later and those standards have changed with the times. It’s hard work keeping ahead of technology. That’s why, of all the companies involved in the initial government tests, only one has been published as an approved source in every single incarnation of those U.S. Military specifications. Guess who? Florock!
So, you won’t be surprised when we tell you that Florock’s Air Hangar Flooring – now consisting of one coat System 4700 Primer and two coats of Florothane CRU 250 — was also tested by the Master Painters Institute, and is listed as an approved source in their document MPI #212!
It’s simply a chapter out of concrete floor paint history that Florock Air Hangar Systems have been successfully installed in hundreds facilities over a period of more than 20 years. In fact, Florock CRU is right this very minute protecting hundreds of thousands of square feet of hangar deck all over the world!
So, when we say we know a little sump’n sump’n about industrial flooring, we mean it! Now, what can we do for you? Just give us a call at 1-800-FLOROCK (356-7625)!
